Lights on an EGC tour pack

My box, purchased on ebay came with that Ultra bar, but I had the plastic portion painted to match the bike color (birch white, no pinstripes), and I added the HD spoiler/LED on the lid.
I found the pattern to be very easy to line up and trace,,stayed within the marked lines and did the cutting with a fine tooth hack saw blade, once i finished cutting out the first opening,I block sanded the remaining material down to the line,My light kit fit into the opening "perfectly" and it took me 2.5 hrs start to finish to do the whole job(that included standing back looking at it having a few beers though out the 2.5 hrs)
The only thing i would suggest is setting the tour pak aside for a few days after doing the light kit,to allow the silicone sealer time to loose the strong smell.
This was the first major job i did myself, and i'm proud to say i did it myself!
PS the dealer service guys looked it all over and said i did a very nice job! they even removed the liner to see how it looked inside. couldnt find a thing wrong with it besides they didnt get $245.00 from me

I have the lights on mine, but I didn't install them myself. I had the dealer do mine because it requires drilling holes in the Tour Pack, and if it got screwed up they'd be responsible.

All you have to do is be careful and plan it out and it can be done. I'd think the job could be done by anyone with a ruler and some shop tools.

If you haven't done so already, consider the HD brake/turn/running light module for your bike. It will turn those large unlit pancake turn signals into bright light while braking and running lights otherwise. I have this on my bike and am regularly told by guys that ride behind me that it provides a lot of light.
I also put the saddlebag lid LED/spoilers on the back and the HD fog lamps on the front which I leave on at all times. I don't have any empirical AMA, NTSB, NHTSA, etc. studies to prove it but I am pretty sure having more light on the bike makes me more noticeable to cagers--even the ones that don't particularly like motorcycles.
