I have an 08 RK classic and was thinking of changing out the back pac on it (hard leather case). I found an 04 ( Electra Glide Classic) full set up (Tour Pac) with wrap around seat for wife and same colour as bike . My question is will that fit the bike ? It’s not a quick release but was hoping to maybe swap over existing to the new one. Am I wrong in thinking I can do that ??

Reason: Change wording
Have not don't it myself but I see no reason why it wouldn't work if you are going to transfer the 04 TP to your mounting brackets, You may need to drill new holes in the 04 TP to make it fit, but I see no issues.
I think you are talking about the tourpack. Yes, you can switch them out, but the reason the RKClassic tourpack is different is because the leather RKC saddlebags open differently. They open toward the fender or tourpack and will be restricted somewhat with the EG tourpack. They still open a lot, but not all the way.
I'm trying this myself 04RKC trying to fit a Tourpak from an 06 Electra and having an issue with it fitting with the Tallboy seat I have on mine. I have the quick disconnect rack and it lines up right just won't fit due to the seat. I'm looking for options to raise the tourpack on the mount using spacers for additional height and also looking into the Kuryakyn adjustable mount - interested to see if yours works out better

Beary
good point never thought of that. So the lid will contact the tour pac when opening but not enough to impede putting stuff in.

that’s probably just an issue with your seat , or I hope it is. Lol. Or I’ll have another issue to deal with.
Usually tour pak have a second set of holes that you can move it further back.....look on the bottom it should have two sets of holes....well at least the King Tour pak does.....but I certainly wouldn't move it up but rather back an inch or so....
Everything is doable, i just moved my '05 RK tour pak unto my '17 SGS....looks fabulous !!!
