I have had 22PLE on my truck and bike. I just polished out the bike last weekend and applied Polish Angel Cosmic. I detail as a side gig so I have all the machines pads and towels.
Is it worth it? Thats up to you to decide.
Paint coatings are a game changer in the detail world. They stay cleaner longer, last longer, and the hydrophobic properties are crazy.
I would not hesitate to coat your bike. If the guy doing it knows what he is doing, polishes the paint to perfection, you will be extremely happy with it.
***Make sure the paint is prepped properly before the coating goes on. This is very very important
CarPro makes some real good stuff, along with other companies.
Paint coatings are not for everyone, and not everyone wants to spend the money to have it installed.
It takes a lot more time for me to coat a car compared to using a sealant.
The person I spoke to is a certified Opti coat plus pro applicator he says he does a complete neutralizing foam bath polish out the complete bike then applies the ceramic coating over the entire bike for $900 I don't know if that's a good price or not

A can of excellent quality carnauba wax is fifteen to twenty bux, maybe less, and is the standard of the industry. Don't pay a bunch of money for snake oil.
Opti coat pro is not snake oil. How many cars have you had Opti coat Pro put on? How many vehicles have you applied it to? Have you ever seen Opti coat pro fail?
I bet the answer to those questions is zero. Your advance auto wax is not even in the same ballpark as a coating. The guy that owns Optimum, helped to develop the clear coats on vehicles. Im pretty sure he knows more than you about paint systems and protecting them
Opti coat pro is a pro installed only coating. Only way it comes off is to polish it off.
The price is not bad at all.
Well, eaglefan1, your knowledge of paint detailing is unquestionable in my mind. You'e proved that time after time. But is it worth the cost over that aforementioned can of wax?
Not to me, regardless of how good it is.
But one area that you may be incorrect on is your assumption that I don't know about 'paint systems'. Been doing auto body and paint since the sixties! But that doesn't' necessarily provide me the knowledge that you have on 'detailing'!
Different disciplines. But personally, I wouldn't pay, what? Nine hundred bucks to protect a paint job. I'd rather make certain that I invested in a high quality paint job in the first place, then use the techniques that you'e perfected and shared with us here. Just makes more sense to me.
But if the OP has that kind of money burning a hole in his pocket, and it has eaglefan1's recommendation, by all means go for it.
But, for me, that would buy an excellent set of shocks or a Rinehart 2 into 1 exhaust...but that's neither here nor there.
