Default Relocate Passenger Intercom Plug on Ultra?

Has anyone relocated the passenger intercom plug from the bottom of the speaker housing to the top to put less strain on the coiled cord? It seems there is enough length on the harness on the bike. Protecting the finish on the tour pack has to be figured out though.

Haven't relocated the plug; But read a post here that to slove the problem of the cord continually pulling out of the receptacle, use a hair dryer to soften teh coiled cord, then stretch it to the desired length by securing it at the length you want. In other words, hang a weight on one end to stretch it out while heating with a dryer.

Of course, the other option would be to secure the ends with a rubber band or zip-tie to prevent them from coming apart.

Had same problem, cured it by applying a slight smear of silicon glue round the plug before plugging into helmet. Still allows easy removal if required but keeps plug in place for normal day to day driving

We simply stretch the cord outand wrap it around the helmet
when we store them.

It keeps the cord longer for the next ride.
