Has anyone successfully used a half helmet to half helmet communication system to speak with passenger? I have heard good things from the 3/4 and full face helmet units. If so, what do you suggest?
When I turn my head kinda to the side, She leans up to listen.
When She taps or squeezes me, I lean back and listen.
We ride with our heads on swivels constantly looking out for the next thing that's gonna try their best to kill us.
Sorry, but that works for us.
For half helmet comms, we have found that the Bell Pitboss helmets work very well with both SENA SMH-10's and also the HD premium touring headsets with mic boom on both.
The integrated soft flaps over the ears hold speakers nicely to the ears, and the microphone booms are sufficiently long to use with the boom mounted to the bottom left edge of the helmet.
I have Sena 20S. They don't look "cool" on a half helmet but I love the sound (use inner ear speakers),no wires, the ability to make/receive phone calls and talk to anyone who is in the intercom group. a charge lasts 10-12 hours as long as you aren't talking too much.
I think from this thread, you'll realize that alot of us...many of us...really love our Bell Pit Boss Helmets. As far as communication devices, there are so many.
For the past few years, I've use HBC100+ bluetooth headset. Yes, its old and there are more advanced systems out there but it fits onto my helmet. The speakers easily fits inside of my helmet. The Bluetooth connects instantly. And more importantly, the sound is crystal clear and amazing.
Although I have a full Biketronics sound system installed, I most often use this set up for my tunes.

Yup.
I have two of them, one set up with the HD headset, and the other with the SENA.
Depending on which bike I'm riding that day, what systems others riding with me might have, or riding alone, either is a great helmet/coms/music/phone situation.
Their fitment system is the best I've encountered personally for a half helmet, and the integrated flip up/down eye-shield/sun-visor is really useful.
