Default Extended Coverage

I'm buying a used 2016 ultra with 3 months left on the factory warranty. If I buy a 3 year extended, I'm told I, in effect, only bought a 1 year warranty ? That makes no sense to me. Why would I pay $2000 (3 year) for $1200 (1 Year) coverage ? I'm told 1 year extended coverage starts from the time of purchase. That would mean the extended coverage is a waste as there is the factory warranty !? Why doesn't the extended coverage start when the factory warranty runs out ?

None of that makes any sense at all. I bought the extended coverage, for about the same money you're talking, and got 5 years of coverage total.

Welcome. You have the right to shop around. I highly encourage it. I paid a little over $2000 for 5 years extended coverage.

You say "I`m told" several times...
Who is telling you this?

Paid less than $2k for HD extended overage at purchase of my 17 Limited. Covers the bike for a total of 7 years. You may be paying more for coverage of a "used" bike and I know the coverage costs a little more if you don't buy it on day one. Your quote sounds high.

One of the forum sponsors is a ESP dealer and they are 1/3 less than the dealers bullshit for the same coverage. Many members use them and I'm buying later this spring.
