Default Opinions please.

I have a 2011 RKC with low miles in perfect shape and built the way I like. I really like the bike and have put a lot of money into making it right for me. Here is my question. Should I spend another 4000 dollars for a Fuelmoto 107 kit for better power and replace the poor stock suspension with something better like Ohlins or go to a new M8. Of course the new bike will cost a lot more never mind building it to suit me. I have not rode the new M8 but I kind of think putting the cash into my old bike would get me better results. What do you think?

If it is in perfect shape and built the way ya like it, why spend anything at all on it?

Power is not great, stock 103 and the stock suspension is very poor. i am just wondering if the upgrades I am talking about would give me a bike as good as the new M8 or close? Maybe it would be better than the new M8.

I had the same dilemma about a year ago. I ended up buying a ‘17 CVO Limited. It is a great bike and I told the wife it was just what I wanted and I would not change a thing. Fast forward 8 months. New lights, wheels and lots of black parts trying to make it look more like ‘12 FLHTK. Not sure what decision I would make today if I knew everything from the past year but as much as I like the new bike I miss the bike that I spend so much time, effort on and got so much enjoyment on.
Good luck with your decision.

Keep what you have and throw a big bore in. You won’t get any money back for the accessories and upgrades if you trade or sell. Get with fuelmoto and maybe consider dropping a baker 6 speed in as well

While the m8 is a great platform in your situation I'd say go for the big bore and suspension upgrades...you've got the cake now put some icing on it

Cams with performance mufflers make a big difference in a stock 2011. Youre stock bike has about 85 tq peak now. With cams and the right mufflers you will get over 110 tq peak.

And upgraded front and rear suspension makes for much better handling and ride quality and is also worth the investment.

Save that money and forget you have it. Ride your bike as you have it since you like it.

It is going to cost you probably at least twice what you are planning to spend on your current RK to get into a new M8, not counting what you have already put into it to make it suit you. And the difference in power and torque will unlikely be as much on a stock M8 as what you would get on an upgrade to your RK. If you are happy with the RK, except for power and some suspension upgrades, you will probably be further ahead, dollar wise, upgrading what you currently have. But that only applies if you plan on keeping it for many more years. Good luck with whichever way you decide to go, and enjoy the ride.

if you have the means you may as well go with the m8 or you'll be kicking yourself later. you'll get used to the power after the upgrades and still have an itch for that m8. then you'll get the m8 and start back down that rabbit hole.
