Really, you measure the oil that drains out?
I have never heard of such a thing and would never have thought it up.
I guess we all have our own way of over achieving.
Again mine is the ridiculousness of using 5000 mile oil (Amsoil synthetic) and changing (ALL THREE HOLES) every 3000 to 3500 MAX. and upon occasion I even cut my oil filter open and inspect it
and even I think that is ridiculous! but this is what I do, ah- COLD... :-)
I measured on my last one but that's the only time i ever have and was my first one on my new to me M8 street glide. With all the issues that people have had I figured it was peace of mind until I order my cam and oil pump and swap the pump out.
What I found interesting was I had over the course of 6 months added a few ounces maybe 6 at the most to my transmission but when i drained it, it was pretty spot on to what it should be. Primary was almost exact spot on so I'm not real sure where the tranny fluid went unless it maybe burns off a little over time?
