I try to install my screamin eagle heavy breather yesterday and is it just me or the chrome cover that hide the clip don't stay ? I stick the gasket stcker inside but still stay loose and doesn t stick to the rubber of the air cleaner...
anyone have had that problem ?
Mine rattled right off riding one day on a trip. Never knew it was coming loose until it popped off and was just rattling around the intake elbow.
I cleaned the glue residue off and figured that with how hot that elbow can get when you stop riding, any 2 sided tape or similar would just continue to release after a while.
I bought and mixed up some of the high temp JB Weld and spread a thin layer in there, set it upright and put a heavy book on it to cure. Havent had any issues since.
Interesting. Mine has screws through it so it can't come off. Came that way out of the box. If your interested, I'll take a picture of it when I get home.
