how do you measure these? I just got an 18 SGS that I am super happy with. I am 6 ft and get just a little wind buffeting... It seems about 2 more in. would knock that out. Not sure how to measure this.

I was wanting some fork fangs but it seems Harley doesn’t offer them for the 17 streetglides .

Oldpaps --- An 8 inch recurved Long Ride Shields, adjustable air deflectors #57000529,
a under the Fork Air Baffle from Kuryakyn. That should help with 80% of the buffeting.

John

P.S. Fangs as a last resort

what is causing the buffeting? air over the shield? air under the fairing? go for a ride, when you experience buffeting, hold your left arm horizontally across your chest. If the buffeting stops, the air is coming from below. That proves it is not your windshield. Fangs or some form of fairing to block air flow from below will help. If your arm does not stop the buffeting, the air is coming from above, or somewhere else. Try this before you start spending money on new shields.....

LRS & Freedom Shields measure from center windshield screw straight up. In normal riding position (emphasis on normal) line tip of nose to top of windshield parallel to the ground. That’s the height shield you need.

I am 5'9'' and look over the Klock Werks 8.5 Flare shield. It's good so far, though I only have about 20 miles on it. I look enough over it that I am sure your 1" height difference wouldn't matter. There is a shop local to me that has testers to try, so you might want to look into that.

They absolutely do have fork fangs for the ‘17 Street Glide, I have them on mine.
If you’re 5’8” you will NOT stop the buffeting without fork fangs or lowers. The air coming under the faring and hitting the tank is causing your discomfort.
Also, a Long Ride Shields recurve windscreen is the best bang for the buck you can get. Another advantage of the LRS is that you can use the three pouch windshield bag. You can’t with Windsplitter or Klockwerks windshields.
