I had two teeth broken off the gear that the starter engages when they did my 1000 mile service. Dealer said that he has seen four others since mine and that harley is aware and trying to figure the fix. Had the same thing happen the other day and will inspect when they do my 5000 mile service in a week or two.

did you have any symptoms? i know in a car you get the grind, spin thing. did they replace your gear when they did your service or were they going to wait?
