Default oh no...which WHIM update to use

So when I look on Harley site it says the 20S uses 1.7.5 But when I use the Harley sena manager it says there is a 1.7.7 ????
Do I use the 1.7.7 or whats on the Harley Site ?

Common sense should tell you to use the latest one...

Not only was that rude but ill informed. There are several kinds of 20s devices both the Harley and the regular Sena. Common sense would be to ensure the proper device is being updated , especially since it is a recently released device and the Harley website is generally the go to place. But the HD website only has 1.7.5 and the software says it can auto update to 1.7.7. It pays to be careful with these things. I’m not lacking in common sense other than letting your post generate a response from me.

You seems to be confused. The current WHIM file is WHIM Software
Version: 1.0.2 | Size: 195 KB.
The current Device manager software version for HD Headsets is Windows Device Manager 64 bit
Version: 1.1.3 | Size: 17.7 MB or
Windows Device Manager 32 bit
Version: 1.1.3 | Size: 17.7 MB
The current Boom audio update for Premium Boom!™ Box
Version: 1.22.0.1 | Size: 880.8 MB
The current version for HD version of the S20 is Boom Audio 20S and 20S EVO Headset
Version: 1.7.5 | Size: 2.1 MB
and if you have SENA head set the Devicemanager is SENA DEVICE MANAGER FOR WINDOWSŽ V3.6.3
And the head set update is 20S Firmware v1.7.7

To avoid confusion make sure you know what item you are downloading for.

I am dealing with some confusion on getting my WHIM and HD 20S duals up and functional. I installed the WHIM and then had the bike flashed at my dealer. They also did the latest update to the BOOM! Audio system. I turned on the 20S headset and it paired easily. However I have no audio coming thru from the bike. I checked every possible reason I could think of and still no success.

Do I need to update or load software into the 20S or the WHIM?

My intent was not to be rude... All I'm saying is, if you connect your device to the Harley Sena device manager and it says there's an update and this update is newer than the one on the website, then use the newer one. The website probably hasn't been updated yet.

You didn't say what year/model you installed it on, hopefully you used the right wiring harness (14-17 required a separate one and the 18 didn't). The new harness is used to plug into both connectors (Grey and Black) on top of the stereo. If you got that right, the only other things I can think of, is do you have the system set to "headset" and is the volume turned up? If you pulled the WHIM out of the box and installed it without updating it, there is an update for it. Same thing for the headsets. I think there's been at least two come out in the past few months. But I don't think that's you're problem. Good luck, hope you get it figured out.

I used the additional harness (not part of the WHIM package) for my '17 Ltd, so that isn't the issue. Audio output is set to 'headset' and volume checked; so that's not it. The dealer tapped the data port under the side cover to do the Boom flash. Nothing has been done to either the WHIM (via it's data cable) or the 20S headsets in terms of updates. Thanks.

This may seem obvious, but check your Sena volume and make sure it is up too. There are so many separate volume controls! Highly recommend checking the firmware version of both the WHIM and 20S to see if they are current, and update them if not. It would appear that checking the 20S requires different manager software depending on whether it is the HD branded model or the standard Sena model. Also, do you have have the Senas paired to your cellphone? I heard that pairing them both to a phone and the infotainment system at the same time can cause some weird things to happen. Try unpairing them from your phone if that is the case.

Good luck!
