Default Pull main fuse? Bar roll or replacement.

Do you guys pull the main fuse or disconnect battery when doing bars? I bought a RGS and want to roll the bars. I pulled the speedo and made adjustment. After buttoning things up I had check engine light and 3 codes. All cleared, but I was wondering if not disconnecting the 12 volts would be better next time.

I know that it says to in the manual, but I didn’t pull the fuse or disconnect the battery when I replaced my bars.

No check lights or codes either. I must have been lucky lol.

Always pull the main fuse when doing electrical work (just like the service manual says), although it does add about 20 seconds to the job...

I did pull the main fuse each time I did bars. Lesson learned years ago doing repairs on a Jeep Wrangler when i shorted out the dash and melted all the wires and the gauge panel!

Not much chance of damage to anything doing bars, but a good practice to get into.
