Mustang is my seat of choice, started buying them to keep the Mrs. comfy. I have close to 200K miles on their seats with no complaints. (Full disclosure - Many of those miles were solo.) YMMV. The do offer a trial return period as long as you don't damage the seat. If you catch them at a rally, you can try the seat on your bike before you buy it.

Road Zeppelin for me after many buys that weren't right bit the bullet and now I can ride all day in comfort.

I have the catalog and see many seats in there. I'm interested in comfort for my wife on long trips. I see many items in there, some costing more, some less. I was hoping I could rely on some here for suggestions on replacing my factory seats.
Go north 300 miles or so miles to link below and have one custom made while you wait.

I’ve had mine for a good 4 or 5 years now and on most days I’m running it. Haven’t noticed any reduction in comfort. In winter a sheepskin pad keeps me warm and in summer I use Harley’s mesh pad for air circulation.

Great responses here, all of them. I will consider each and every one of them.

Note: Glendale Harley has an aftermarket windshield they demo and recommend. I don't know why I didn't think of asking about seating options.

This would be a sure bet IMO. Make an appointment and take a road trip up the coast. Stop in Hollister for the day and have one custom built. Take it out for a ride and have it adjusted if necessary. I've had 5 seats built on their ride in program. On my touring bikes I get their Tour Pack back rest as well. The wife would be thrilled.

Unfortunately this is not an inexpensive option.

Here is the most recent on my 16 RK with Corbins tour pack back rest

Mustang seats are usually very good fit....but the problem is their difficult to "demo" because they have a very restrictive return policy. They simply won't take them back if they show ANY signs of use. In most cases, once a seat is installed and ridden the cycle's frame can leave slight marks on the underside of the seat where the frame contacts the vinyl fabric that wraps under the seat.........and Mustang may not take it back........a multiple hundreds of dollars "return gamble".

I happen to love Mustang seats. On my 10 Ultra I tried 4 other seats before I found the Mustang Sport touring. Now when I ride out west to visit my son I can do 800+ mile days easily. I usually stop when its dark, not because my *** hurts-lol.

However, you should try either a sheepskin pad on your seat, or the Airhawk pad. It might save you having to buy a new seat. I use the sheepskin pad when its hot out even with the Mustang seat.

Mustang! Otherwise, if you're sticking with HD, test them out at the dealership first. My stock ultra seat, I hate. It makes me feel like I'm sitting on top of the gas tank. Demo'd and thought I liked the HD tallboy seat .............hated it after I bought it. Mustang Summitt .....love it. Comfort is very subjective, but when I compare the build quality of the Mustang against my HD seats, it's night and day.

I am with the corbin crew, worth a road trip to check out. Very happy with mine, I ride solo 99% of the time. Lots of good 2-up feedback if you search.
