Too funny! Heading south in July means that thing will be off as soon as possible!

I'd wear the helmet. On my head. I've fallen a couple times and discovered that the helmet can take an awful lot of impact that my skin would otherwise be experiencing.Yeah, it's a HJC half-helmet, kind of goofy-looking, I know, I know. But it does offer protection.

Just for what it's worth ... if those helmets are strapped to the bike somewhere and god forbid you do go down, they will not survive. You're sacrificing the structural integrity of their design without your head in them.

j/k Have a blast and be sure to hit the Blue Ridge Parkway if you're close enough, it's something you'll remember for a lifetime.

Do yourself a favor and wear the helmet. It does not look half as bad as your head without a body attached to it if something happens. If you want to attach it to your bike...there are all kinds of helmet locks that you can attach to your bike in various places or just use the bungy net like previously mentioned. I wear mine all the time and it does not bother me to have the protection.

Good Luck and enjoy your ride. TN has the best riding and the best weather.

I'll put another vote out there for storing them on your head. I've found that mine fits perfectly up there, may not be the coolest dude on the road, but oh well.....

Always can locate mine on my head. No extra nets or space required.
