Default Throttle?

Hello
thanks in advance for any suggestions.

2012 roadking juat slip ons all elae is stock.
when im cruising around 70mph or more and twist the throttle to gun it, it seems like it falls out of gear. The gear indicator doesn't show 6th and it sounds like its not in gear until I let off throttle and slowly increase speed. Any thoughts?

Slipping clutch?

Does the engine rev but not increase in speed, but stays in that gear? If so, I'd start at the clutch.

Yep, sounds like the clutch.
At a minimum it's time to adjust it. Might even need to replace it.

The gear indicator is basically a match between wheel speed and RPM. It's not truly a gear indicator beyond that. That is why when the clutch slips the indicator goes dark. By the speed match it doesn't fit a gear ratio.

Does your bike have a hydraulic or manual clutch?
