I wanted your opinion on what is happening with my bike. I have a 2010 Road King. I was riding today and noticed that when I shifted from 4th into 5th gear and rolled on the throttle, the bike would rev like it was still in 4th gear. It did this about 70% of the time. Eventually, after a couple seconds it felt like it slipped into 5th gear and would run fine. It was only doing this in those two gears, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 6th were fine.
Also, when I pulled into my garage at the end of the ride, the check engine light came on, but turned off and stayed off when I restarted the bike.
That is a good sign your clutch is slipping and requires adjustment. It's not diffcult to do if you have a manual.
Try this before you take it to the dealer or your indie.
I did pull my bars back a couple inches to make them more comfortable, they're ape hangers. I also rotated the clutch lever housing, could this have affected the adjustment?

You bet.
Had you gone forward with the bars you would have been fine.
As mentioned, get the manual and adjust the clutch, you will be fine.
Or do a search here for someone illustrated a procedure that about sums it up.
Actually, after adjusting the bars and clutch housing, the cable now has more slack. The pull on the clutch lever is pretty tight though.
Is there any slack at all up between the end of the clutch cable and the clutch lever. Normally you can slide a dime in between the ferrul and the housing.
