Default Extended shifter lever installed

Some remove the rear shifter, but I love mine so I extended it with Dennis Kirk 8.5 inch chrome extended lever -44217. It was $21, cheapest I found. Just wanted to share a couple of pictures for anyone wanting to see what room you would gain. Went on a test ride and love that additional 2"

I only changed the rear......the front was fine.

Sorry, the pics are sideways, but I think they're still visible.

I went with new shift levers from Performance Machine. They have a much wider spread and the added room is really nice. I can actually ride with my foot in between the pegs basically. I would never be able to go back to stock.

I spent a couple weeks looking for one in black to no avail. Ended up with a contrast regular length. Swear that I checked DK. Will have to look again. I have the XL Banana Boards and only use the front lever.

Just be careful with that extra leverage you don't go and strip the splines.......

I found a pair on E Bay, 17 RK. added about 6" of space,LOVE them. Problem that I have is they are steel,Very heavy. Do you think it is a problem with wear on the system? Stocks were feather weight aluminum.

....... would love to have an extended heel lever for the SERG, but can't find one even close to the CVO design.

I'm not too sure. But if you get two of these, they will provide almost the same room. And for what it's worth.....I respect others' views, but if you extend them, don't worry about stripping anything because of the length. That's not why they strip. It's because the bolt reaches torque before the pinch is tight enough on the splines. The allen bolt head bites into the aluminum before it's actually tight. The same can occur with aftermarket also. You have it torqued down properly....but the pinch actually isn't snug on the spline and over time, it strips. That can occur with a 1 inch lever or a 5 inch lever. Some people add a small washer under the bolt head to make sure the pinch tightens before the bolt bites down into the shifter. I believe mine snugged down good enough, but may back out the allen head and throw a washer on just to make sure

clean the threads on that allen head bolt place a little oil on it and re torque it, back off and retighten a couple more times remove clean with brake parts cleaner and lock tight it and re torque and that shifter shaft will never loosen up ever again

Keep in mind when you lengthen that you increase leverage on the shaft. It becomes real easy to mash the teeth on the shafts.
