Did about 75 miles today. The first 50 or so were, of course, the delicate break-in miles where you are supposed to keep the RPMs below 3000 for the first 50 miles. Did that this morning on a beautiful ride up and down Pacific Coast Highway between Huntington Beach and Laguna Beach. A perfect morning for a ride like this. I went out early so that no one would mind me varying speeds and gears and so forth. It was hard to keep the RPMs below 3000 because the M8 engine seems very comfortable at higher RPMs regardless of the gear, but with one or two brief mistakes, I succeeded.
The M8/107 is a wonderful engine, very smooth and powerful; all the get-up-and-go that I could ask for. The Road King is very easy to handle on the highway or in a busy parking lot. This morning I did both.
Precisely what did the Stage III entail. Did you do it after the purchase, did the dealer do it, or what?
dealer installed,107 to 114 c.i., bump up compression to 11 to 1,installed a 498 cam,new lifters and springs,RCX mufflers,Ventalator intake,Screaming Eagle pro tuner...I decatted the head pipe after purchase
