I have a 2001 flhtcui that won’t stay running. It runs good for about 15 minutes then dies. There’s no spark until it cools down. I have replaced the coil, cdi box and plug wires. Still having same issue. I read it could be the ignition module but not sure where it is located. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks
You need to see if you can get your bike to "code" which it should do if your problem is an electronic failure.
Heat tends to breakdown electrical components and if it's not a coil issue it may well be the ECM
Unfortunately, you have the MM EFI system, which at your bike's age is not good.
I had a 2000 MM system myself that would not "code" until the tech (who was trained on the MM Systems) determined that the Engine Temperature Switch was defective. Once he replaced it, the bike then coded a defective ECM.
If your ECM needs replacing, do your best to get an OEM part.
We had to settle for an aftermarket brand and even though it made the bike run very well, the bike had starting issues and never started like it did with the OEM.
