Here in Vancouver BC Canada we have now hit the record books this morning.
$1.61.9 per litre
Highest now but,
expected to hit $1,65.9 by end of May.
That might be the highest for Vancouver but nowhere near the highest in North America. It 2004 I fueled up in Inuvik NT .it was a $1.94 then. I can only imagine what it is now.
Fresh tank of 93 this morning on the way home from work was $2.99/Gal. I happen to work at one of those awful places that makes gasoline. Summer driving season definitely has plenty to do with the price we see at the pump. Some people fail to take into account the cost of logistics. Getting fuel to remote locations or places that are otherwise difficult to access costs the end user as well. Adversely, this is why the fuel in my area usually runs well below the national and state average.

picky-picky.
They did say the highest in a major city! I also paid more on the road up north.
Filled up Friday, paid about $3.50 per gallon for ethanol free premium- about $0.50 higher than E10 Premium and a buck higher than 87 octane E10.
They are starting to get kinda sneaky at some of the pumps around here. They display a price for 89 Octane (mid grade) at several cents per gallon LESS than for the 87, but you don't see till you look at the pump that the mid grade is E15, not the E10 that is in the 87 octane stuff. And the only Premium grade available at this place (Kwik Trip) is ethanol free- they don't sell any E10 Premium. Technically illegal here to pump ethanol free gas into a car or truck. Only supposed to be for bikes, boats, and the like.
Saturday I paid $4.00 a gallon for non ethanol. This was out of the old fashioned single pumps so I knew I was getting what I was paying for. It's all good.
