Default Need Help...cervical spine pain

2017 Street Glide Special. Having pain in lower cervival vertebrae. I changed the bars to KW 2+2 and it isn't helping. Those bring the bars up 2" and back 2". I have 1100 miles on the bike so far. Everything else is stock. I gotta figure this out. Any suggestions would be great. I have had surgeries in lower lumbar area and was concerned about that area. However, no issues there at all. Thanks in advance..MC

If you don't have a rider back rest, get one. It helps me especially when I have to back up the bike. I feel your pain, my last surgery L3-4 was April 2 and doc told me no riding for 8-12 weeks:-(

Just throwing this out there.....Is it new to this bike, or did you have it before? If it's new, did you also get a new helmet? I have a sore neck from long rides if I start to slouch towards the end. I also switched to a lighter weight half helmet, from a previous brand half helmet.

Is it perhaps wind buffeting causing you to fight to keep your head in position? If so, a taller wind shield might help or maybe a lighter helmet.

Go to Walmart and buy yourself a back brace and take a long ride. If it helps, great, if not take it back and get your money back. It's worth a try.

Most of these suggestions are about lumbar pain except for taller windscreen and lighter helmet which can help. But you need to strengthen the area. Get a lighter helmet. Also where exactly does it hurt. Stay hydrated to better maintain proper disc cushioning. Theres a few other things but lets start with tht

A set of Ohlins on the rear helped my sore back a lot. You are still aware of the bumps, ect but it takes the sting and jarring out of them. For myself it has been $$$ well spent. Hope this helps.

Stock seat? Lots of HD's have demo seats to try. As a retired Trucker, I can tell you your wallet can offset your hips causing back pain. Try putting it another pocket for awhile.

Thank all. I am going to try to figure out a seat and backrest to see where that gets me. I never have anything in my back pockets, and the lower back is fine. The ohlins may be next step. I'm really disappointed the handlebars didn't help. Many others suggested them and said it cleared up same issue for them.
