Rubbing

I rode about 100 miles today and I noticed that the front seemed to be rubbing or grinding. Sounds like the calipers. Is this ok? I hear it the entire ride! Please giveme some insight.

Sounds like you might have a caliper hanging up or maybe a warped rotor. Is the grinding constant or sound like it's just at a certain spot? like loud, soft, loud, soft or the same/constant noise all the time. My front brakes make a really wierd noise when I put on the brakes, kind of like a grinding when the pads go up against the rotors but are quiet while just riding. Take it for a ride down the highway for some miles and pull over/off in a safe spot just using the back brake, and do a feel test on the front rotors to see if one is warmer than the other. Be careful in case it's more than warm.

[:@] It could also be a wheel bearing.

Just a thought. I had a dragging noise on my front end from the brakes, when I did the rotor swap thing, the noise went away. You might consider this, if you have not done it already. Worked, in my case, at least.

Agreed, check the brakes first. You shouldn't be able to hear anything but the exhaust running down the road. You definitely have an issue you need to address.

I will definitely look into it. To answer one of the questions though, it is not intermittent with different sounds or when brakes are applied. It simply makes a rubbing (metal) sound from the minute I start moving until I stop.
