Installed Arlen Ness 15" Jagged Big Brake Front Rotors and Hawk Sintered brake pads. Now when I brake hard, I feel a vibration in the front end. I checked to ensure that the rotors are true when I lift the front end and spin the wheel, and that the new pads allow the wheel to spin freely. On a lift, everything feels and looks correct. Thoughts?
Are one of your brake pads dragging? The wheel would still spin but there could be just enough pad drag to cause what you're feeling. Are the calipers really hot to the touch after a ride? If so that could be your problem.
I have also heard of people filing the edge of the pads down so its not so square. Sometimes that causes a pulse feeling too.
Thanks, Bubba Zanetti. The pads don't feel or appear to be dragging. I'll ride hard then check the temperature, too. If all seems correct, I'll file the edges of the pads.
Ijust did pads and replaced my wheels with enforcer wheels...
I not get a "pulse" when at slow speeds just in the front... I called my dealer amd told them that ibwould like them to take a look at the rotors to make sire all is good and explained why and he asked if i just did pads...
Told him why yes i did... Amd he said its normal for about the first 200 miles of city traffic where the brakes are used... Theyvsaid its the pads wearing "true" to the rotors...
Clean your rotors.....I use a soapy brillo pad....on both sides of the rotor....and a spray a bit of soapy water between the rotor and pads ..then rinse well.....
Hey give it a shot...it works for me....
OK, problem solved. First, I changed from the Hawk pads back to the OEM pads, and still had the rough, shaking in the front end when I braked from mild to hard. 2nd, I changed back to the OEM rotors, and the braking was smooth. So, the problem is the Arlen Ness Big Brake Rotors. I'm calling AN to check on their return policy. Will post their reply.

I hope they'll let you return the used rotors but I doubt they will.
