Default Uneven throttle with apes

Has anyone noticed a hard time keeping an even throttle at lower speeds once installing apes? I put a set of 10" on a 10 ultra. I notice at speeds below 40 that I have a hard time keeping an even throttle. It is not the bike, it is me, I can feel it in the throttle it self. Not jerky persay but definitely not even, more like small surges. I am assuming it is because I changed my angle of approach with my grip. The 10" bars feel comfortable, 12" would have probably been better but I didn't want to be that far above the fairing. I have a custom seat but now I notice that I probably can sit myself back and inch or more so will probably have it reworked. I do like the bars but never put my problem or read about this issue in the mix when I was choosing bars. Wild Ones (578 I believe) are the bars I went with if that makes a difference which I don't think it does.

Thanks for reading and look forward to responces
Doug

Never had the issue. Was also never concerned about having my hands above the fairing (this is why gloves exist), so I chose the bars that were most comfortable.

Relax your shoulders and pull your elbows in; you should be holding your upper body up with your core muscles, not your arms. Using your arms to hold yourself up introduces unwanted steering and throttle inputs.

I had that problem too, when I'd hit small bumps or dips I'd goose the throttle.
Pushing the bars forward solved the problem, so there wasn't any bend at the elbow to flex. Worked for Me at least.

Probably wouldn't have as much problem if you had a carburetor bike. IMO

My first EFI bike I had a lot of problems with smooth throttle and steady control.
Still do on occasion and I know it's just me.

Didn't think about that. Will give this a try, I do notice if I "force" (mindset) myself to sit back a little further that I don't have as much problem.
