Forgive me in advance if there is already a thread in regards to this....
I have a 2003 FLHTCI with the 88ci Twin Cam...... What motor sizes are a direct fit with zero modifications, i.e. transmission, engine mounts, etc. I had the dreaded cam tensioner failure and the bottom end of my motor needs rebuilt. Im opting to just replace with a remanufactured engine with the cam gears so I never have this problem again. Could I bolt on a 95? 96? 103? ..... Im looking at motors now and the price difference between the sizes is not great so I was thinking if I can bolt on a 103 for a100 bucks more than an 88 then that sounds like a plan if it will work. Any advice would be awesome.... Thanks
Thanks so much for that.... hate to probe further but if I went to a 95 or 96, what needs to be changed to make it bolt on or is this just to much to list?

Your engine has a 4" stroke. The TC 96 introduced in 2007 has a 4 3/8" stroke and a different engine case. You can bore your engine to 95" or 98" but as for complete replacement my original answer stands.
Donmecca357---Check out the Harley Davidson Longblock Program, part #16200095 it's a 103 inch
engine designed for 03 to 06 EFI Touring models. Cost $4495.oo, and is sold without cam shafts so
that will allow you to go with a gear drive setup, and use some of the parts off your old engine, like rocker boxes and engine covers.
It could cost less from a 20% off dealer, check it out.
how many miles on it when the tensioners went? I would also look at some of the engines from some one like hillside cycles they are making tons of power.
27k..... I called HD and it was 4k just to rebuild my existing motor......S&S has a 111 and a 124 that are direct bolt on....all I would need is a performance throttle body and not even sure I would "NEED" it, the site just says for max performance. (137 HP and 131 ft/lbs Torque). Ebay has a bunch of used around the 1500 price range but im skeptical buying a used motor. Are there any other direct bolt on options other than S&S.... 6k plus 500 for the throttle body then 1k or so to get installed... Im at nearly 7 grand.... This cant be the only way

Does that place ship? I found their website but it stinks.... no purchase options or prices

If I was gonna hand anybody 4k to rebuild an engine it'd be Kirby at Vee Twin Racing.
