Thanks to Notgrownup & EdwardK, I've established that there still is a cb on the 2000 Ultra I purchased used. Thanks men, for your help.
Next is to figure out which headset I should get. I'm leaving on a month-long road trip with a buddy in a few weeks, and we'd like to use CB to communicate. Since he has a Street Glide, he'll probably be buying a handheld and a headset for it (suggestions welcome in that area for sure!) and I'll just use my stock CB.
We both ride with modular helmets but will probably carry half helmets as well.
I'm considering upgrading my sound system for the trip too, but... baby steps! I don't even know what questions I should be asking, as this is my first touring bike.

2000 Ultra
I don't have the J&M Elites, but I have heard great reports about them. What I do have is the IMC headsets ($90) and I can tell you they are head and shoulders better than the Harley Headsets. I got the IMC's when I bought an HJC Helmet from the Helmet Shop in Daytona Beach. They installed the heADsets professionally and I couldn't believe how much louder and clearer the sound was, especially the stereo sounds...you could actually tell the song was IN stereo. LOL!!
And the J&M's are supposed to be EVEN BETTER...but the cost about twice a much too. But they are still $20 cheaper than the Harley ones!

Thanks brokefootkenny, mtbottles, and gov5, I'll look into those and post back here which one I choose. But if I don't get my motor fixed in time, the trip's going to be postponed a year.
