I was thinking of putting Samson fish tail straight pipeson my06 Fuel Injected Road King, but a local dealer told me that it would cut my horsepower in half. Anyone have this problem. I don't want to loose any power, but I love the sound of the fish tails. Thanks
You will lose some power.... But if I were you I would call MARK @ M&M CYCLES he'll cut ya a good deal on the Samson's ... Just picked up a set of Cycle Shack Fishtail for a friends FLST and they were less then $300 shipped??? According to Mark - They are there TOP SELLING FISHTAIL Slip-Ons & They Sound Good & Look Good!!!
I have a set of samsson fish tails on my 2006 fuel injected road king. The dealer will say all kinds of crazy stuff, they just do not like installing straight pipes period. Do it right, go with a power comander and you will actually gain some extra ponies, minimal but you gain a couple. Do not go with cheap slip ons, go with true duals.

I have Sampson drag fishtails. I bought on looks. After putting them on, I gotta tell ya, I didn't notice any loss of power. Granted, I did the stage one at the same time, but I love mine.
I really like the looks of the Samson's - they look very close to what you saw on bikes of the 50's. A little loud for me, so I went for the SE Street Performance Mufflers with the fish tail end caps. I don't think they look as "authentic" as the Samson's, but they are quieter. Like others have said, you dealer is steering you wrong - half the power? Nah.... but matched with a fuel management system and high flow intake, the Samson's should be great.
