I hate to say it but I like it better than 2 wheels........handles like a sportscar, and corners way better than a touring bike.........if you go with a 3 wheeler do the Lehman brand conversion......they are the best.......and put a big bore kit in....nothing better than popping the clutch and yanking up the front wheel!!!!!!
I just brought a SG althought I didn't get to ride it yet the damn delivery guy drop the bike. I decided on the SG because it the better bang for your buck if your not plan on traveling alot. I don't like the road glide because of the fix fairing.
Lil_gmac2,
congrats on the new bike. Just shows how people differ, I like the RG because of the fixed fairing. The fork mounted fairing reminded me of how my bicycle handled with a full load of Sunday news papers on the handlebars.
*****,
Thanx, for the info. I am planning to do the 95/98 inch conversion this winter sometime
It never ceases to amaze me the different opinions on these touring bikes, guess that's what makes the world go 'round.
Although I have never even rode a scoot with a windshield, I ordered an '06 RG. The fixed fairing just seems the most logical to me for long trips, which is what I plan on 'doin. It's supposed to be very stable on the road as far as wind buffeting (or is it buffering?).
A bud of mine kept his '01 RG in my garage for a year and I fell in love with it's look, especially while rollin' down the freeway. He offered many times to let me drive it, but I never did. Still have never driven any touring bike to this day, just pulled the trigger on the Glide. Should be in my hot 'lil hands no later than 11/11. Hope I like ridin' it as much as I like lookin' at it
Bored,
The road glide is no different than a sport bike, concerning the fixxed fairing. I come from the sportbike crowd also (busa) & I love the ride of the road glide better than the fatboy I am selling now. The wife is more comfy on it also (she hated the busa) haha. The radio & cruise make it a sweet cruzer.
