Nice, I have one ready to build but not sure I will or not as we dont really do long distances anymore. Mostly Hotel dwellers now....
i am debating on how to construct the enclosure, I am not sure I want to use a car top shell or build something unique...

I have an Aluma that I inherited that is a real nice little trailer. I have another one that I have pulled for a few years but this Aluma is a lot nicer. Weare going to Yellowstone in July and taking it so we can have everything we might need.
Just make sure you have enough of your weight forward to keep the little trailer from swaying and it looks like you have the 8" wheels om it, might think about getting the 12" they ride much better. Mine has torsion suspension and rides smooth but I keep the air pressure down a bit also.
Don't let people that don't "understand the need" deter you it's nice to have enough clothes and what you need or want to have with you to be comfy. just sayin'
Howdy Steelerdude,
I made a trip to Mecca" (Stugis), with my camping trailer. It's a Kamparoo made in Austrailia. Ten day camping trip and having the bed off the ground and a stand up inside is real nice on a long trip. Coming back to Texas I rode up Pikes Peak but I had to drop the trailer in the parking area. It was 101degrees at the bottom and 27 at the top and I was wearing a T-shirt! Cleaned em out of hot coffee and snack bar chili. Just getting dark when I got back down and headed to New Mexico. I got to the rest area near the top of Raton Pass in heavy sleet. My back tire had begun slipping so I pulled in. Never unhooked and in about 1 minute the camper was open and my little heater on. Trailer was a blessing for sure then! I do like camping light for a weekend jaunt with just the bike, but I like my camper too. It always gets folks to stop by take a look and instant new friends. I don't think Kingglide was criticizing, just didn't understand or has different approach. We're all on two wheels and some of us some times pull a couple more!
Happy camping!

Thanks for the practice run! Helps me out a bit, since we've been thinking about a trailer as well. Same thing, camping trips, etc for when there's not enough room on the bags/trunk for everything. Would removing a leaf spring throw off how it tracked? Since one side would be softer than the other, would imagine that if it bounced it would come down on the stiffer side first and grab, pulling it out of alignment?
What type of trailer hitch are you using? I have a trailer that I towed with my GoldWing, but it had a receiver type hitch that was sturdy mounted. Was considering towing it with the FLHTK, but didn't know how well it would pull one, or what type of hitch to use. Here'
s a photo of my trailer.
I picked up a used Bushtec from a fellow forum member, got it all rigged and took it out for a short trip (empty) and had no bounce issues, that said, it has air suspension and may well be the difference, I'll be taking a few more test runs before our 3500 mile run to North Dakota here in a month or so.
Why would you need so much stuff?
We go most every year two up ...she gets most the trunk and one saddle bag.
I get the other saddlebag where the tools go, a qt of oil and an extra gallon of gas.
Sometimes I infiltrate "her section" LOL
dont feel bad-I see trailers all the time...I just don't understand.
Obviously you've never been on a "Road Trip" with Red, my wife. We started riding ( almost ) 50 years ago with two pair of jeans and tarp rolled up on the bars ... Now the house is ( pretty much ) empty by the time she's packed all the necessities.

Ain't that something, my trailer is on the back porch right now, the wife is practice packing...

I have a receiver style hitch on mine, it has a 1 7/8 ball. So the answer is yes you could pull that trailer. I know JP cycle sells a hitch and a few other companies out there with "normal" receiver hitches
