You can always ask to take the bike to a HD dealer or independent for an inspection. I always suggest that to people for used cars and motorcycles. If the dealer says no or stalls about letting you get the bike inspected, walk away.
I picked up used 2011 Ultra last year from a used motorcycle dealer myself. The dealer offered for me to have the bike inspected anywhere I wanted. The only item found was one minor issue that the dealer pointed out while I was looking at bike. The inspection was well worth the few dollars it cost and gave me better piece of mind about the deal. The Ultra was bone stock with 35K miles, new tires and had been serviced. It had been a one owner trade in.
To many miles at that price. Keep looking there a a bunch of low mileage bikes around at that price.
High mileage is just that and you can't get around it - things just plain wear out. HD makes improvements every few years that are
significant so I'd be looking at 2012 to 2014 FLH's. It's a buyers market right now and you might want to spend a little more to get a
lot more IMO.
I purchased an 09 Ultra with 26k on it.........never any trouble nd no regrets. 76k would concern me a bit, but if its been cared for, its got plenty of life left.
