It’s hard to believe that a 1/4” spacer makes that much difference but I guess it does... I am glad I got 2 in there...

It made a huge difference for me. The 2 spacers made the ride stiff and jarring.

I have the mono tubes in my Road King forks, and love them. I am almost always solo, about 190#, and I have 2 spacers in my monotouves - giving me a firm yet comfortable ride, with Zero dive.

The install instructions recommend 2 pre load clips for a rider and gear weight 170# to 200#, 3 clips if you will be at a significantly higher ride weight (rider, passenger, gear), and 1 clip if the rider and gear weight will be less than 170#.

i believe you will enjoy the results of installing the mono tubes. If nothing else, you can give Progreessive Suspensions a Call, and get their expert technical recommendation.

Well I can’t say my ride is jarring and stiff, more compliant with no dive...

yea progressive tech recommended the two for my weight so I think I’ll try that direction. Thanks for all the input. Wish I had twice the money I’d go for axeos!

I'm 6' and 210 lbs. I had 2 in my 2002 stripped down FLHTC (same as a street glide) and it was miserable. No brake dive at all but WAY harsh on sharp edge bumps and frost heaves etc. Took out 1 and now run just 1. It's better than 2, slight compression with braking but still too harsh for me. Just haven't switched them out to something else. I have Ohlins rear shocks which are very good but the way stiff, abrubt mono shocks tax them slightly. With good rear shocks you find out quickly the condition of your front suspension. A friend who is 6', 300 lbs uses 2 in his and is happy. I ride 2 up 75% of the time. I would go with 1 if I were you. Also, I have talked to a progressive tech regarding mine. He said go with 2, then I told him about the harsh ride and he then said he had heard about that from other people and then recommended 1. Doesn't inspire much confidence in their tech's for me.

This, in a nut shell. with 2, my ride was also jarring and very stiff. With 1, still jarring on the bumps I mentioned just not as stiff. I do live in an area that suffers from the effects of harsh winters. Warmer states with better roads may be a different story.

What ever route you decide to go just remember adding or removing a clip(s) requires a complete tear down of the legs. Choose wisely......
