I want to upgrade my front wheel to a 19 wheel. I see a lot of take offs from late models and wonder if they will fit? I know about needing to change to a non ABS bearing. I like the enforcer rims... I see guys taking those off and going with 21 etc... I dont like the look of the 16 wheel that came stock on my bike.
I did this to my 05 an I had to change the brake calipers to Brembo due to the rotor size. I have one rotor from a pre brembo V rod that might work if you need 11.5" rotors instead of the 11.8....I didn't think of this when I did the conversion, would have been cheaper than the calipers but the upgrade did give the front brakes better feel.
For a 19 Enforcer to fit on your bike youll need;
19 Wnforcer wheel and tire
Rotors for said 19 Enforcer wheel
Brembo calipers from 08 and up Touring model
25mm axle and spacers from late model Touring model (not 100% sure on years)
It's really not as difficult as some have been lead to believe. You can get the Enforcer 11.8" rotors turned down to 11.5" and use your existing brake and lower leg set up. You'll have to work out the bearings and spacers to fit. You can't see the full rear wheel and at the rim it looks close enough to an Enforcer that you can get by using the existing wheel. There are a few threads on the forum from members who have done it.
I had no problem with the spacers on my 05, just the rotors. an while I think the 19" looks better I thought the 16" rode better with the thicker side wall
I have been doing some research and shopping around and see that I can buy 21 inch wheel with Rotors and spacers etc.. and tire mounted and balanced that will supposedly fit right on my 07 street glide with stock calipers. Now i am wondering just how much handling i will lose? I push this bike the way it is now and it does handle pretty well. I also just replaced front suspension to Progressive without a lowering kit. any thoughts? Would a 21 wheel be ok without lowering kit? I'm thinking bout going with Fatty spokes all blacked out.
