Strange noise

I noticed over the weekend that the front cylinder on my 06 Ultra sounds different. It almost sounds like the valves are tapping.It does it when the engine is hot and your at a steady speed like 60 mph. Anyone else ever hear theirs do that, or is it just me? My Ultra is an 06 with 4300 miles.

twin cams are noisey, they all do it. A good syn oil, most any except that swill syn3 harley sells will help.

It is probably just the normal noises. I have found that when someone first hears the sound they tend to key on it (listen for it) and really notice it. If something is broke it will make alot of noise, which will be unmistakable. Tune it out of your head and just enjoy the ride.

Mine did the same. Lot quiter now with 8,000 miles and amsoil

My 04 RK was making rattling noises worse than my old Kawasaki H1 when it got hot (3-4 red lights in a row). I changed the oil to Castrol GTX 20-50 and now it sounds great at any temperature, I guess the harley oil thins out too much when it gets hot.
