I bought this bike already setup with v&h dresser headers and slipons, but there's like a 2 inch gap between the header and the slipon on the right side, and on the left side, the hesder is completely exposed under the bike and turning blue. Any idea if this is just a bad install or some missing parts?
I would find a piece of the right size thin wall pipe and cut a heat shield out of the size I needed then spot weld a clamp to it spray paint it with some high temp black paint. Thst should fill in that gap nice and pretty cheap too
this isn't really a serious problem , it just looks kind of bad .
on the right side the black heat shield isn't long enough to cover the slip on clamp . normally i'd say loosen the heat shield and the clamp and try to push the slip on a bit forward , but with those fishtails you can't do that because they'll hit the bags .
on the left there's just a piece missing .
if you or someone you know is really good at cutting and shaping metal you can make it look good without spending much . but the best way is to buy a complete new exhaust system designed for your model . the good news is you can ride it like this until you save the money .

Reason: fixed typos
Looks like someone threw together some left overs to piece together. I would start over with known parts...the idea above to save up til you have it all is a good idea. Either go all black (new black slipons and new left shield for under header) or all new chrome pieces.
