I have a 2007 roadking it started having engine light come on when engine is hot. If you turn bike off let it cool down it goes off until bike gets hot again.
I have changed plugs plug wires bike steal rides the same just worried about the engine light. Anyone have any ideas about this?
Are you sure you're checking for codes properly? If it comes on at all, it should have stored the code. Turn the ignition on and watch the check engine light. If it comes on, goes off, then comes back on for a few seconds then goes off again, there is a stored code.
When end I take the gas cap off Im just noticing when I kill the bike it blows like pressure.
I shut the bike off could hear it leaking from the cap!
Those are turn signal codes and what's turning the light on. When the light comes on, check your turn signal functionality.
As far as pressure in the tank, check for pinholes in the fuel lines inside the tank. Before your next ride, remove the gas cap and shine a flashlight in the tank. Turn on the ignition to prime the fuel pump but do not start the bike. Does it look like a hurricane inside your tank while the fuel pump is on? If so, you have a fuel line leak.
Ok my Harley friends... I took my bike to the Harley shop spent 200 bucks. The engine light still comes on and they cant figure it out either. Anyone please give me some ideas.
when the engine warms up the check engine light comes on and stays. When it cools off goes off. Drive about three miles comes back on. NO CODES. Any ideas?
My 07 RK through a CEL once right after I had serviced it. I had replaced the plugs with NGK's. No codes were stored. For whatever reason the bike did not like those plugs. Put in a new set of stock HD plugs and presto no more CEL. That was 5 years ago. The only other issue I've had is that if my idle gets erratic I know it's time to clean the IAC which. It doesn't throw a code but the bike will idle at about 1400 when warm and my cruise doesn't work. In fact it did it again today. Which it does about once a year.
