Default Vibration ??

My 08 Ultra seems to be having some awful vibration when bike is in gear running. Is it normal to fell alot of vibration in the shifter peg, if you leave your foot resting lightly on it while driving? When I pull in clutch, seems like vibration disappears.

My first thought is “don’t ride around with your foot on the shifter peg”. You will feel more vibration since it is bolted to the engine and not rubber isolated like most of the things you touch while riding. Otherwise check out front motor mount, exhaust brackets and shifter linkage.

How long have you owned your bike and have you only recently noticed this? Has it got worst recently? Tell us more, so we can give you a better diagnosis! Where else do you feel this vibration, or is it only when you touch the gear-change?

I've changed all motor mounts. Still There.

It's important to answer Graham's (grbrown) questions as well.

How long have you owned it? When did you notice it? Is this your first Harley you've had for 12 days, or your 12th Harley you've owned since it was new?

Owned bike for 8 yrs. The vibration has been there for awhile (since last year).
When riding it feels like your driving over washboard pavement. When you pull in clutch and let the bike coast, it seems to disappear. Almost like it's in the tranny.
You can feel the vibration pretty much right through the bike, frame foot pedals etc. I've changed all mounts except the two rear ones. It's not a tire, wheel bearing issue because it's only there when bike is in gear, and I have changed both front and rear wheel bearings. Don't know if it's a bad bearing in the clutch/Tranny somewhere. Getting an appointment with my local mechanic soon to check it out, I have to get a leaking cylinder o-ring gasket changed anyway.
It may have shown up after I had the compensator changed to the SE version.
