I'm assuming you are using an 02 sensor socket? Try some WD40 or any other penetrating lubricant on the threads of the 02 sensor. I approached my rear 02 sensor from the left side of the bike with a long extension running out over the primary. If this doesn't do it for you, they make an offset 02 sensor socket that will allow you to approach the 02 sensor from the right side of the bike, therefore, allowing a shorter extension to put more force in the attempt to loosen it.

Both the regular and the offset 02 sensor can be purchased at Advance Auto, 0'reilly, AutoZone for around $10-$12bucks each.

It is a socket that has the side cutout so you can "thread" the wires of the 02 sensor out the side of the socket and really get a good grip on the sensor itself.

AutoZone, O'Reilly's, Advance Auto, or any other automotive store should have it. Reread my last post, I edited it with a bit more info.

I just went through the same thing and ended up taking the header pipe off the bike and I still destroyed the sensor (and bung) getting it off. WD40 did finally help but at that point the threads were in pretty bad shape. I think the slight angle that was put on the o2 socket getting it in that tight spot may have contributed to the cross threading......if I had to do over I would go ahead and remove the rear head pipe to get a straight shot at it. Fortunately I found a local machine shop that used an 18mm thread chaser to clean up the threads and I was able to get the new tmax sensor installed.......boy what a pain and quite a sick feeling having your brand new bike in a few pieces in the garage.

Be sure to use anti sieze on the threads of the new 0 2 sensors so you can get them out if you ever need to.

WD 40 is not a true penetrant for rust. Use something like Liquid Wrench or K&W Knock 'er Loose.
