Default Lowers quick removal question

Hi folks. I have a 2009 Electra Glide Classic. I bought some aftermarket lowers for it. My question is: For those of you that already have lowers and could take them off in less than 10 seconds, when it is hot out, would you? I am trying to sort out whether they are a hotter ride when it is hot out or if they don't make much difference. I will buy a quick detach kit if the consensus is that you would have them off in the heat. Many thanks for your input.
Don

Does it really get that hot in BC, that you have to worry about it?

i did remove my vent Louver things. But, just to get a bit more air on the motor. IMHO, the worst heatbissue, is when I’m not moving. So, removing the lowers wouldn’t change that. Even riding in 110 degrees, my legs weren’t overly how if I was moving. It did help to be able to put my feet on highway pegs though.

Do your lowers have vents? Mine don’t. I leave them on year round. They help to create a much calmer air pocket around you. When mine are off, the wind will beat hell out of you. Just my 2 cents.

Maybe OP meant to take off in 10 minutes, not seconds. If he meant seconds,I would like to see that happen.

Just installed Hogworkz lowers on mine and rode up to Kelowna and back this week. 30 plus Celsius (90F) and had no heat issues with the vents open.

I got the quick release set up in 07.
.I agree with everyone above but still as the seasons and years pass I will mix it up, lately I pretty much leave them on all the time. I think the quick releases were worth the $70.00 USD to me only cause I kept the bike so long and do my own wrenching and mix it up as said. Also i have had to pull them off and fix the adj. bolt, couple times and pulled them off to soak them in a tub of soapy water to clean a couple times over the years(bugs and dirt fall right off after soaking all day)

You can get very quick at removing them without the quick hardware but not while on the phone and smoking a cigar at the same time

LOL, I recently came into ownership of a 2011 FLHTRGU with a 103.
Have ridden the Fraser Canyon (Lytton, Boston Bar and Yale) a couple times on the weekends and dam it is hot on that bike.
My lowers have the vents on them and they are wide open and it is stil a hot ride.
Mind you I am wearing leather over pants as I believe in ATGATT.
I drink more water to maintain hydration and suffer somewhat.
The OP may consider those nylon covers that go over the crash bars and are easier to remove if it gets to hot and save the lowers for the cooler weather ahead in the fall.
Cooler bikes are generally happier bikes to.

I had a 98 ultra and the lowers were not vented so I would take them off around town in hot weather. Its definitely a lot cooler with them off, you get a lot more wind coming thru. When I traveled I would put them back on regardless of temp. when it rains you will be glad you have them. On my 08 ultra it has vented lowers that I usually leave open in hot weather and that seems to work good, so I never remove the lower fairings any more.

If you have the vents, open them. It'll get more air flow across the engine. Without the lowers on, the wind at speed blows right up through me and is pretty harsh at 80+ FYI.

I leave mine on all year-round and just make sure the vents are open when its summer riding season.

Keep them off my '18 Ultra Classic. Soon as I got the bike home they were off.
I think it is quite a bit cooler with 'em off.
Others heat sensitivity will vary.....................
