I installed them on my 09 Ultra 10 years ago when I bought the bike. I thought it would a nice to have the option to remove them in hot days. I tried them off the bike for 1 ride they have never been off again because of more wind noise. Not worth drilling bigger holes in the lowers.
The only time i notice the heat on my bike is when stopped or in heavy traffic, removing the lowers or fangs isnt going to change that. The best route to a cooler bike is cat removal and a decent tune imo.
09 Ultra in Osoyoos I have tried it both ways and now they stay on, no difference then the wind on your legs when off and got cought to many times with them off when a rain came through . So they just stay on
Thanks Folks, for the great responses. It pretty well settles it that I will save my money on not buying the quick release kit. My lowers have the movable vent in them.
It easily gets over 30 degrees here (90*) and nearby areas get to 40* (100+).
The 10 seconds was just a statement to take the work of removing them out of the equation. It wasn't meant to be taken literally.
You guys are, as always, great.
