Default Harman Kardon Navigation Owners Manual

I know before you ask WHY would I buy one, I got it on ebay for 1/2 the price of new and really didnt want anything hanging on the bars. I also wanted to be able to use the handlebar controls for ease. It came in new in HD packing but without the owners manual to learn how to use it right. Anyone out ther have one that I could have you scan it and send me a copy? The dealer says that due to problems with the printing company they won't have them till late July or so.
I may regret buying it but what the heck, I've been known to waste $ before [&o]
Thanks

Sure, I'll be happy to do what I can to get you the info (check PM)

RE: My other posts on this subject - actually the HK Nav unit is better than I thot after riding 15K miles with both the HK and the handlebar mounted on my bike. Sure, the HKhas no visual display and you can't see the route it is planning but I've found that to be a blessing while on the road as it's one less distraction. Just preprogram your route in advance, check the turn-by-turn routing the unit gives you against a map before you head out (to make sure it isn't taking you someplace you don't want to go) and you should be good to go.

Took 15K but I'm finally getting it.

I've been using my HK on my (so far) 2600 mile journey from South Florida to NY via the Smokeys. Now I'm into Ohio. It has performed very well although a couple of times it got a little crazy. Coming north on 81 I think in Pa there was backed up traffic going up a long hill. I got off at an exit at the bottom of the hill and hit the detour button. It took me through many turns and back roads and then to an entrance to 81. I thought man this is great. Imagine my horror when I came up to the same backup 3 miles down the road. Of course I probably screwed up as I never read the direction books. Looking for my KOA in the smokeys it told me I had reached my destination when I was in no mans land. Out of 2600 miles I don't consider that too bad. I like it. It would be great if they would update it.

I hear ya. I've had the same problem a number of times. On my last trip to Lewiston about a month ago I rode into town and it took me right to my hotel. The programmed in the address of my restaurant where I wanted to have dinner - no prob. Then when I told it to take me back to the hotel I ended up someplace on the other side of town. Damn near never found my way back.

Oh well, such is the price we pay. Actually, I kinda like those little side trips to places I would never go to otherwise.

Just in case anyone else would like it, here's a link to the HK Nav owner's manual. Like I told stich, not my best piece of work but you can get the drift.

Thanks again crazie, that completed my unit that I giot of ebay and all worked well. As stated in another post if anyone is interested in a nea HK Nav unit check this seller on ebay. Half the price of new. Almost makes it worth it.

... and one more limitation I just came across last night. The map CDs that come with the unit cover only the lower 48 states (and just a bit of southern British Columbia. so this isn't going to be much help up the AL-CAN on in Alaska.
