Default Derby cover emblem peeling off

I noticed that my 105th anniversary emblem on my derby cover is starting to peel off. What kind of glue/tap/adhesive would be okay to use on here to keep that from ripping off in the wind? Please and thanks.

3M double faced molding tape. You can get it at any parts store, and as long as you clean both parts really well, then wipe them don't with alcohol to get any cleaning residue off, it will hold it on there great.

I've removed and refitted several Harley emblems, reflectors and other such things, using 3M tape as SP suggests above. First you need to remove the disc and clean it up, before using the 3M tape to refit. That disc is quite large, so my technique of using tooth floss to 'saw' through the existing tape may not work, some fine fishing line will probably be tough enough to achieve that. Don't use any metal tools as levers, as you risk causing damage to both parts - patience is the key! To remove the yucky sticky stuff which is the mortal remains of the current tape, I've successfully used WD40, but patience is yet again needed, as it will only clear away the detritus a little at a time.

I like both ideas, thanks gents. As for removing the existing glue, I use a handheld steamer for glues, works like a champ; I've used it to remove many emblems when I didn't want to use a heat gun and also to remove window tint glue easily.

After cleaning all the residual glues off , I'd wipe down with alcohol a couple of times then reapply the emblem with some clear silicon sealant. The excess sealant (if some oozes out) can be cleaned with a rag and mineral spirits.

Or you could always just replace it.

I use RTV silicone for adhesive...works VERY well, just gotta let it set up overnight. But, I think were I you, OP, I'd use two part epoxy.

To close this off - I ended up using a heat gun to get the emblem off, the two sided tape used was sticking well to the derby cover, but not so well on the back plastic of the emblem. Used my steamer and extra fine steel wool to get all the glue and residue off, a couple wipes with some methyl hydrate (I had it laying around in my shop), then used JB weld to permanently mount that emblem back on (again I always have JB Weld in my garage, not 3M tape nor silicone). Sits nice and flush now. My plans were to let it sit overnight, but a couple buds showed up and we went for a cruise 5 hours later and the emblem stayed put.
