Thanks everyone, little gal was coming right at me last evening trying to drive and text at same time, went passed her in her lane cause she was in mine. Hit big as pot hole blowed the seal covered bike & me with oil for 6 miles gettin ig home

Find a local Indy shop they will be cheaper than a dealer if you have a dealer around that will work one that old.

Yes, find a good indy. HD dealers in my area will not touch a 20 year old bike.

You don't need to remove the forks at all for that job. The sliders are dropped with the upper tubes still installed. A proper 2-piece seal driver is used. Oil is pulled into the forks from the drain tube by a vacuum. This is an easy job and I have done it numerous times.

It's a pain in the bikes that have the 2-different forks - they need to be completely removed.
