Yeah I soldered all wires to the correct ones, but really haven't checked for other damage. I did call local Harley shop and they said they had the SE setup. So I got one on hold, But I'm trying to figure out what the difference is between the SE TBW and the regular stock TBW. Is it because the SE TBW doesn't have the green connectors and it's a little longer than stock?

The SE TBW doesn't have a interconnect(green connector)sitting inside middle of bars. It also has real long wires so won't have worry about extending wires. Many on here cut out green plug and soldered and shrink wrap without issue. Before running inside the bars if you're in doubt maybe you can test it before running it inside bars. If have a tuner like Powervision you can monitor the output voltage of TBW sensors to make sure you see changing voltage as twist it. Here's a pic of SE TBW sensor.

so the only difference between the 2 is the SE has no connectors and wires are longer? I thought with them putting SE on it, it had like better output or something like that. Put I decided that I’m going to eat that hundred bucks and get it! Just don’t want to have issues later on down the road!

Don't throw the old one away. I just cut the green plug out when I did my bars. The plug is usually the problem when guys do taller bars.

When I did the bars on mine, remember reading that you can order an aftermarket TBW that doesn't have the connector in it. Fortunately I didn't need it, but do a search and see if you can find it.

I’ll probably put a picture in the classifieds and sale it! Maybe someone will need it for their stock bars for a spare or I might keep it as a spare!
Thank You everyone for all your help and letting me know that other members has cut and solder the wires on their TBW

I ordered a new one too an still had the problem...cut the plug an soldered so I have a spare too! I still get a CEL now an then when I maneuver an turn the bars all the way lock to lock...I may have a problem in the plug where it exits the bars. I unplugged it an moved it several times installing my amp an changing bars.

Folks I was WRONG! The top picture is the old TBW that I had to cut green connector off the color coded wire to solder into the red, white and black wires in the black and yellow sheath. Now the bottom picture is the New TBW aka SE TBW, the only difference is the New one has No green connectors and you don't have to use color coded wire with the new one. The new TBW wires the red, white, black in yellow and black sheath is the same length as the old wires, Total length from tip of New TBW is 41" and that is the same length has the old one. The new one just put it through you new bars put connector on the wires and plug to the connector under fairing. So if any one needs another TBW I am putting it in the classifieds.

I just found out from a reliable independent owner/mechanic that has a custom bike shop about 2 miles from local hd shop where I got the new TBW. I took my bars to him to run wires because it was just me and I really didn't want to mess them up, so he did them for me, but he said I was in the right to get a new TBW, because he says once you cut, splice and solder wires, you lose 30% of the throttle response. He said the throttle by wire is a lot different that any other electrical on the bike, like radio's and other wires that it's ok to cut splice and solder wires without any worries. But just wanted to give ya'll a update.
