So I discovered this long clear mark on my bike today that looks likes a big drip. The mark isn't raised (my finger nail won't catch it) and is clear. I tried using a clay bar, bug and tar remover, compound, and polish yet it won't come up. Does anyone have any idea what this could be?
Seen this kind of thing mentioned in the forums before I believe. If we're kind of talking about the same thing.
in my garage under fluorescent lighting standing at the right angle looking towards the left in my tank I can see a weird clear coat line. Can not feel it move one step one way can't see it got to look at this just right.
my wife thinks she can't see it at all it's nothing you notice unless we look and squint look at the right angle.
I don't see anything in the photo, but it might be tree sap. Put a wet towel over the area and allow to soak for a couple hours, then see if the mark comes off.
"Drips" like you are describing, finger nail won't catch it, is in the color not the clear. So if it is a drip in the color you can't get it out unless you sand it down thru the clear and into the color where the drip is. Sloppy painting bottom line.
Clay isn't going to do anything for a paint run or drip.
Clay is designed to remove contaminants that are stuck to the paint.
Cant tell you how many times I have read on here guys recommending clay to remove swirls. Totally false and bad advice. Wax doesn't remove swirls either.

FLY EAGLES FLY!!!!
