Default Rack and Backrest for 09 Electra Glide
Looking in the used market for backrest and rack for my 09, pretty sure nothing earlier will fit but whats the latest model that will work?
I want the QD mounts.

You need the right docking kit. You can use older than 09 but you would have to modify. Not worth the hassle.

The correct years for your bike are 09-13

I had it on a 2009 Road King. Detachable. All the hardware.

You can get a grasshopper back rest brand new for less the a 100 bucks. They work great with a very easy install been using them for years now hope the link works

Looks like 9-13 is the answer I was seeking. I have the tourpack with QD mounts on both my 09 and 01 and have the additional backrest and rack for the 01 and it required 3 sets of docking points for all 3 pieces to fit on the 01.
I suppose it matters if the backrest and rack are separate pieces or not with regards to the docking points.
