Marketing move on their part, they want MSRP so they bump it up, you play the dicker game for a couple hours and they grudgingly knock the extra off to get MSRP and you feel you got over. Wait till later in the fall, it's always this way the first month of a new model year release
The dealership I go to doesn't ask over MSRP BUT adds a $1,200 destination an "assembly" fee. One guy owns 3 or 4 dealerships in the state an they don't put a price on the bike at all, just a tag with the year an model so you have to talk to a sales person. I won't go there.
Thats what the dealer wants to do in the beginning of a new model year. They have plenty of time to sell the 19s. The new 19s getvyiunin the door, but the over MSRP then dire ts you to the 18s, thatvthey have for 1,000 off MSRP.
Thanks for all the feedback guys...yes the dealer MSRP game is probably the same every year. I typically buy my bikes in the Winter so I haven't come across this thing before. But I should have expected it.
Every year same old stuff. Dealer pricing over MSRP .... If you pay over MSRP that is on you. Most likely trading a bike that has far more owed on it than it is worth . Paper work to cover the difference. yes in the 90's MSRP plus but that is long sense over.
Have not even paid fright or setup on the last 5 bikes.
Last year CVO's priced way over MSRP. yes some were and they sat on the floor.

freight is listed on the hd website. $435 on touring. as far as setup, the factory reimburses the dealer for and pdi necessary to prepare the bike for sale. so by marking that up, they are effectively 'double dipping'. getting paid by the factory and by you.
Which dealer would you recommend here in Maryland?
I have bought 3 new harleys all from highland harley Davidson. They have 2 stores. One in levale md and one in Somerset Pa. They have beat every other dealer in the area by far and they do not play games. I would highly recommend giving them a call.
