No they don't HAVE to do it but for peace of mind I would allow them to so they can check out anything that may have been overlooked in the initial set-up and adjust anything that may need any attention. After that, I'd do it myself or find an Independent Wrench that you trust. If you do however take care of the 1,000 mile service and any services afterward be sure to keep all the receipts and records for any warranty questions that may arise.
