from what im finding out if you have the stock air shocks swapping to a pair of $600+ shocks is a major difference, if you have the newer HD premium shocks the $600+ shocks might not be worth it from the small improvement they offer
rode my bike last night to meet some friends at a pizza joint the road i need to take there i hated very rough use to be a real pain to ride on but with the shock change it was not bad at all no more jarring back pain or bumps that threw me off the seat bump that i braced myself of before are now so much smoother i can relax going over them and i still haven't bottomed out
I would like to upgrade my shocks as well but this. I don't get why they cost so much. I can put 4 decent shocks on my truck for around $200. Why are the bike shocks so much more expensive? I just want a decent set. Not looking for high, high end stuff.
09-18 Harley Touring Premium Adjustable lowering Shocks 12" 54000081 54000082
You can find the 13" or 11" as well. Used take offs are all over ebay. Mine cost $220 shipped and sooooo much better than the air ride on my 16 FHLX......but I am sure the $800 shocks work very well.
One of my air shocks started leaking oil so I decided it was a good time to replace them, especially since a guy here listed a pair of Progressive 444's for sale. I really noticed a big difference, and am planning on replacing the front's with the Progressive front cartridges.
Newer owner here so still learning so correct me if Im wrong- I have a 2012 Limited with the stock air shocks, they are 13 correct? Any issues going to a 12 premium shock in relation to tire/ fender clearance riding 2 up fully loaded?
