I bought a bicycle shock pump that looks about the same as the HD pump, but does not work well. Just doesn't seem to have the pressure. Sounds like the HDis the way to go.
I bought the H-D pump and carry it on the bike. I'm surprised how many bagger riders have never checked their shock air pressure. Usually, when they say the've never checked it, the air pressure is zero. They're amazed at the difference in the ride with 15-20lbs of air.
I am all for looking for a good deal and choosing non-HD parts when appropriate, but you can't go wrong with the H-D pump. Very good quality! Easy to use! Buy the sure thing!!
just another... "buy the HD one", it's small, works really well and isn't much in the grand scheme of things. My favorite part is it doesn't bleed back the air when you disconnect it.
All the WAY!!! Use it often between one up/two up riding.... GREAT QUALITY!!!
The problem with any ol' air pump is losing pressure as you disconnect. Just a quick "pffftt" and you probably lost 2-5 psi. Even checking with an air guage does the same thing. This is where the HD pump rocks. Unscrew the connection and you lose absolutely nothing. If it says you have 15 psi, you have 15 psi. Well worth the full retail price even.
